Christian City operates a Children’s Village Residential Program just south of the City of Atlanta. They provide caring and safe housing for at-risk children. Over 30% of children who are left on the street for 48 hours or more are lured into sex trafficking. The goal is to help stop the pipeline of children who are lured into labor and sex trafficking. Through the Safe Place Runaway & Homeless Youth Program, Christian City picks up runaway or homeless children within an hour from all over Atlanta and its many surrounding counties. The children in need either text for help or show up at a Safe Place Site such as QT gas stations, YMCA locations, or other Safe Place facilities.
Our annual fundraiser for Christian City is the 2023 Community Champions Awards. At those awards, Christian City recognizes a charity, an individual and a company that are renowned for giving and supporting the community. Past winners include Delta Air Lines, Home Depot, Stephanie Blank, Dan Cathy, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and 100 Black Men of Atlanta. The Champions for 2023 are: The Atlanta Braves who exemplify how a major league sports team can enrich the life a community, The Peach Bowl which is known as “college football’s most charitable organization,” and Truist CEO Bill Rogers for his many charitable endeavors.
